Who We Were. Who We Are.
For the past year and a half, I’ve been working on this project –
driven by curiosity, love, and a deep desire to truly understand our family story.
I searched through archives, read and translated diaries and books,
revived old photographs with color, and created our story through a fresh, personal lens.
But the moment I’ve looked forward to the most – is this one: sharing it with you!
Each generation in our family was born into a different reality –
from traditions rooted in culture, art, and family businesses,
to times of rebuilding communities,
and eventually, to an era that values individuality and the freedom to choose.
But one thing connects us all – across countries and generations:
we are part of a rich and complex patchwork, stitched from what we were raised on,
What we choose to carry forward – or leave behind.
Our true inheritance isn’t just property –
It’s the stories, the values, and the identity passed down to us.
Starting May 2025, every Friday for one year,
you’ll receive a short story, photo, or fascinating fact from our family’s past –
15 generations back, all the way to the 1700s.
It’s time to bring our legacy to life.
Feel free to read the blog, subscribe to the weekly newsletter,
and share it with anyone you like.
With love,
Nir Marx
